I have quite a few Tekton tools and use them often for my own projects without a single failure.
This breaker bar is a solid piece and should last me for a long time (maybe for ever).
If you want a nice breaker bar for a good price and lifetime warranty this is it.
I have never had to use the warranty on any Tekton tools, that is a plus in my book. I will buy more from this company with confidence in my purchases.
I broke this bad boy out and slapped on a brand new, high-torque, deep-well socket specifically for the task. I then added a 6-foot long iron pipe for more leverage and had my wife and son hold the water heater in place so it wouldn't rotate as I pushed on the the end of the pipe. I don't know if the manufacturer used some kind of thread-lock compound on the anode, but even with the both of them holding it, the water heater still managed to move as I applied pressure.
The grotesque amount of force this simple machine applied to the anode rod finally broke the thing free and I was finally able to proceed with my project. I still think back fondly on how satisfying the sudden movement of the anode rod was after having spent so much time and effort previously.
I have not needed the breaker bar since then. That's 5 years now. But it is there in my toolbox... waiting... until I need it again.
