The only complaint I have is that on the bottom of the handles where they’re molded, the molding sticks out and can cut your hands if you hold them for a long time while full. I use them to train. I’m sure they will dull down over time. If it’s too bothersome, I guess you can always tape the handles.
For water spillage, there’s been no issue with that.
For the durability of the cap, it’s held up pretty well. Also no issue with that.
For having a weird smell, it’s not bad. It smelled mildly chemical-y, but went away quick once I rinsed the inside before completely filling both with water.
For drinkability, I don’t use it for that purpose so I couldn’t tell you. But I’m sure it will be fine. You can always drop in tablets to “cure” the water if it bothers you that much. Although I feel like that’s moreso for water with a bunch of microbes and other things from water you would drink from rivers, etc., while hiking.
Overall, I liked this purchase. And pricing was de end in comparison to all the overpriced jugs I wouldn’t buy (which had mediocre reviews).
As I expected it did smell a little like new plastic inside, but I filled it with water and let it sit overnight. Plastic smell was gone. Definitely would recommend this water can.

It's a mil-spec product, made by an officially contracted company named LC Industries in North Carolina. A couple of other reviewers seemed to think that LC Industries wasn't an "official" government supplier, but are mistaken.
LC Industries is absolutely a government supplier and can be found listed on GSA Advantage's website at: https://www.gsaadvantage.gov/ref_text/GS07F5673R/0NIJLB.31P80J_GS-07F-5673R_LCI84092414.PDF
GSA is the US Government's material supply arm.
Anyway, it's a quality water can, the exact same as the ones made for The US Government. I love Amazon, but it can be found cheaper elsewhere
