The Pahranagat Valley and its surrounding wilderness' have been my nemesis throughout 2023. From Rainbow Canyon, I'd planned to drive a couple hours east - through the darkness - to a fantastic petroglyph site that I could enjoy when the sun crested the horizon the following morning. I can't really believe that I've been exploring the western United States for nearly five years now and have yet to spend any time in the San Rafael Swell. That's not entirely true - technically. It was almost exactly noon when I rolled into the southeast corner of the Volcanic Tablelands from US-6.
