It was shortly after 2:00pm when I arrived at the trailhead for my next destination. I have to say, it was so pleasant sleeping next to the Hoh River, as it quietly rippled by through the night, bringing cooler temperatures along for the ride. Those temperatures - along with the fact that we were parked in a valley - meant that sunrise wasn't on the agenda, and it was nearly 8:00am when we finally climbed down the ladder to get our day underway. The morning of my final hike - but not my final morning - I was once again up early. Having enjoyed previous early morning treks across the expanse of Saline Valley and up the alluvial fan of the on the opposite side, I figured I might as well do it again!
