5th Gen 4Runner Storage/Sleeping Platform DIY Plans

Description

A super-functional storage and sleeping platform for your 5th gen 4Runner (2010 and newer)*. I've made dozens of these platforms for others over the years, and now you can make your own using my plans for the perfect fit in the back of your 4Runner.

With the kit, you'll have a platform made of ¾ inch Baltic birch plywood - strong enough to stand up to the toughest of uses, whether it be a full load of gear, a fridge, or even a couple of people sleeping in the back of the truck.

The plans include links to materials and measurements for the following platform configurations, though you can easily modify non-critical dimensions for the ultimate custom setup:

• 3/4" Baltic birch plywood platform 2¼" above the existing rear storage floor (aligned with folded down rear seats).
• Two (2) L-tracks, one along each side to secure loads, as well as an optional third (3rd) L-track one in the middle
• A pull-out shelf, approximately 18" wide.

After ordering this kit, I'll email you a detailed diagram with all key measurements, necessary tools, and step-by-step instructions on how to cut and assemble the platform.

Note: due to the nature of these plans (once I email you the PDF file, you've got it forever), I do not offer refunds once the PDF has been sent.

* Note that the platform fits 5th gen 4Runners without 3rd row seats.

Tie-downs

Rather than buy tie-downs that I choose for you, you might as well just purchase ones that you like best and save whatever markup I'd have to make to stock them. Here are a few that I recommend:
