Description
Looking for the best extended rear brake line for your 1st gen Tacoma or 3rd gen 4Runner*? Most give you a line that is 20 - 21 inches in length, telling you that it's good for a 3" lift. However, you'll notice that with a lift in the rear, these lines are often too short and limit travel.
The AdventureTaco lines are a full 26 inches long and allow for the full cycling of your rear suspension with no concern that you'll stretch or break your rear line.
Made of a heavy duty braided stainless steel, these DOT-approved brake lines have a gray PVC oversleeve to protect the line from snags and abrasion. These lines also reduce swelling under pressure, resulting in a more consistent braking experience than the stock rubber lines.
We always include a new brake line clip as well, which can be used to replace the existing clip where this line connects to the rear brake proportioning valve at the frame of the truck.
* Note: This extended rear brake line fits all 1st gen Tacomas and 3rd gen 4Runners that have a single brake line from the frame to rear axle. It does not fit '01-02 4Runners with traction control.

Dan is awesome! I recently picked up an extended brake line for my first-gen Tacoma to go with the Dakar leaf springs I’m about to install, and the quality is fantastic. His website has been such a big help too for any DIY'ers. I’m already planning to grab parts from him for my Tundra brake upgrade. Highly recommend checking him out if you’re working on your Tacoma!

Dan is truly the man! The AdventureTaco repair/how-to guides have been invaluable for my 1st gen Tacoma repairs. They're clear, user-friendly, and suitable for all skill levels—kudos on the excellent work!
Recently, I decided to swap out my leaf springs for a thicker pack, naively thinking it wouldn't cause any issues. However, as the guide had warned, it required extending the brake line to avoid losing rear brakes while driving—a lesson learned through my foolish attempt to cut corners! Thankfully, the guide included a link to their own stainless steel 26" brake line, sparing me the hassle of scouring for a reliable replacement.
I appreciate how AdventureTaco not only shares their expertise but also makes it convenient for anyone to undertake repairs confidently. Their inclusion of quality parts and quick links is just the icing on the cake! I wholeheartedly endorse AdventureTaco to fellow 1st Gen Tacoma owners and Toyota enthusiasts alike!
Appreciate the work you've done, keep up the great work!

Hey Dan, I finally got around to installing the brakes last weekend, the parts all fit perfectly, your write-up was very helpful. I was googling the tundra brake upgrade and came across your write-up and found the link to your brake line kit and rear brake line.
