TL;DR - I love my Exped Megamat in the rooftop tent, so I'm getting a lightweight version for backpacking.
Have I ever mentioned that I love my Exped Megamat? Yes, yes I have.
Choosing a sleeping pad once again came down to finding something that was both comfortable and lightweight. It seems like there are several options in this camp, so getting the Exped really came down to the experience I've had in the past with their products. I also really like the inflation system on the Exped, and I already have a battery-powered pump that I'll be able to use to inflate the pad.
I opted for the Exped Dura 3R rather than the Exped Ultra 3R because I was a little concerned about durability. I'm sure there will be times where I'm sleeping directly on the ground, and I getting a hole in the pad would make for a terrible night's sleep.

Exped
Other pads I considered:
- Nemo Tensor Trail Ultralight - I noticed that some of the reviews of the Exped mentioned the Tensor as a better pad due to the baffle design, but there were plenty of Tensor reviews that mentioned leaks and lack of durability.
- Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLight NXT - this was recommended by Randy, and I grew up on Therm-a-Rest, but I've never been a huge fan of their inflation systems, so I opted for the Exped, at least for the time being.
