TL;DR - I'm done with 16" wheels and the limited tire selection they offer. My next set of tires (and therefore wheels) will be 17".These are 17x7.5" double five-spoke from an early 2000s Sequoia. With 4.5" backspacing, they are perfect for a 1st gen Tacoma.

I have been trying to discover if the 1G Sequoia double 5 spoke is the same backset as the double 5 spoke offered on the Tundra of the same year. It looks identical. Did you come across anything verifying this when you were looking for a new wheel? Tires in the 255/85 range are much cheaper at 17" than 16" and there are plenty of Tundra wheels in my area but no Sequoia...

I can't imagine that they would be any different since the Tundra and Sequoia are essentially the same platform. I didn't know those wheels were available on Tundras, but if they were, I imagine they'd have the same backspacing.
One thing to be aware of is that these wheels are relatively heavy, enough so (in combination with the tires) that I notice it when starting from a stop compared to my old setup. You can see my first impressions of the new wheels/tires here, if you haven't already.
