In early 2026, I visited the De Coster Cabin of the Micadon Mine on a tour of cabins around Saline Valley. There, I found a 49-year-old register containing a fun history of the folks who had visited in that time, as well as some of the work that had been done to the cabin after it was adopted. I always like to archive this sort of information, as there's no telling when it will be "borrowed" from the cabin or otherwise meet some untimely demise.

We are delighted to come upon the Hotel Hanta, which we like to call the "Little House on the Prairie" as we explored the roads of the backcountry of Death Valley, we have enjoyed our over nite stay immensely & are contributing this "Rite in the Rain" notebook to allow the journaling to last as long as this wonderful place. 8/23/24 - Cool August weekend. Looks like winds took a toll. Front door blown off hinges, siding too. Explored to the south, coyotes & obsidian. Fresh water & drinks for the fridge.
