In early 2026, we visited the hideout - or secret writing camp, depending on who's telling the story - of Peter B. Kyne. Once an old mine site, the name of the mine lost to history, I always like to archive this sort of information, as there's no telling when it will be "borrowed" from the cabin or otherwise meet some untimely demise.
If you've been to the this site - and especially if you know the name of the old mine - I'd love to hear your story in the comments below.

Welcome to Peter B. Kyne's secret ledge! If you are here, then you probably already know the story [smiley] So I finally found it myself, after first reading about it 12 years ago. Had to use Google Earth to nail it down. I think it is roughly 100 years since Peter used this camp as a retreat for writing. Now that I have context, I will try to find some of his books! I expect this spot will get very few visitors going forward, but who knows? The Coronavirus is threading the very fabric of society today. I am exploring the desert as a way of self-isolating!

Nice to slow down a bit!
