███████████████████ Visitor Log (Dec 1999 - Jan 2026)

In early 2026, I visited the ███████████████████ on a tour of cabins around Saline Valley. There, I found a 25-year-old register containing a fun history of the folks who had visited in that time, as well as some of the work that had been done to the cabin after it was adopted. I always like to archive this sort of information, as there's no telling when it will be "borrowed" from the cabin or otherwise meet some untimely demise.

If you've been to the ███████████████████ Cabin, I'd love to hear your story in the comments below.

███████████████████ 1999 Log Book started on Dec 28, 1999.

Oct 13, 2001 I'm from Napa and Colton -

Guy, Alysia and Joel, the place looks a lot better than when we were here 9 years ago! We thought the ███████████████████ was someplace we had never been, but I guess after 30 years there's not much new to see... except people's hard work in restoring things to a semi-livable state. It might keep the mice and Hanta Virus away if the insulation come down.

Later... The desert dude and son outthereguy.

Oct 29, 2001 - Arrived at 9:00 AM via ATV while deer hunting. I guess you could say it was more seeing the outdoors rather than hunting. I've enjoyed my time here in these mountains. The cabin seems to be as in the previous condition as described before me. Had to pull the chair out on the deck to really enjoy what is here. I guess I would have to say that in many peoples eyes the place looks like a dump. However, I find it to be a wonderful place, especially after reading of your endeavor. It's not the wood & nails that we should see but rather all that it stands for and the labor endured. One week after the World Trade Center was attacked, I was seating on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and had the same feeling as I do here, that is we must come in awe of what others had done before us.

I'm looking upon this view one must realize there is a God called "I am" and that he loves not only us but also beautiful things. For mother nature alone could not have given us such a place. And I truely believe that the where abouts of water up here is known only to God and the deer!

By His power alone

The first cabin you pass was built and maintained by my Great uncle Roy or "Red" Braden. He and his wife Del would mine & prospect in these areas. Most of the claims were in his wife's name. This claim was dubbed Del #1, 2, 3 & 4. Roy and Del both lived in Big Pine. Roy has a very colorful past, he was known for walking around town w/his colt .45 on his hip. Someone wrote a blog about him, I can't remember the webpage. The old truck cab was Roy's old truck. I am unsure who built this cabin (#2) but the 3rd cabin was said to belong to an old man named "Doc". The wood and rocks on the north end of the lake are remnants of an old Spanish out post. Native Indians also stayed here. There used to be rock circles indicating where their tee-pees were. Enjoy!
